Well, it was freezing cold and wet, but last Thursday we held the
1st Annual Lickel Classic Golf Tournament
It rained all morning and broke for lunch (which was nice), but it started to rain again right when we had our shotgun start at 12:30. Despite the rain and temperature we had a really great turnout and I wanted to thank everyone for coming out and enduring the weather for such a great cause. Of course, it probably didn't have anything to do with the all beer and BBQ?!?
On the brighter side this gave everyone a chance to use their ball-retrievers, umbrellas, ponchos, and all that other great stuff buried at the bottom of their bags. As for Mark, Nate, David, and I... we used this as an opportunity to practice our "Happy Gilmore" swings and use the Louisville Slugger "club".
We donated all the proceeds from the tournament to
The Survivors Foundation
Breast Cancer is not only deadly...but expensive, and the Foundation helps woman who can't afford treatement or medication. It was an honor to host this tournament in their name.
We are looking forward to doing it again next year (only bigger and better). Please mark on your calander MAY 14, 2010 for the 2nd Annual Lickel Classic Gold Tournament.
