2013 QuikTrip Golf Tournament
Supporting the United Way

Bev Stein and I decided to head down to Tulsa this year and participate in the Annual QuikTrip Golf Tournament that supports the United Way.

The Tournament was held at The Patriot, which has to be one of the most beautiful courses I've ever played on.  They had water and sand hazards, perfectly manicured fairways and greens, and every par 3 had a chance to win a really great prize (including a car)...as a hole-in-one prize!!

It was set up as a 3-man (person) scramble, which I've never seen before.  So it was Bev, Jeff and myself!  They set two teams on every hole and had the third person from each team share with the other 3rd person from the other team (sorry Bev).  So, all 6 of you would drive off the tee and then break off to the two best shots (one for each team).  Strange...but it worked.

To the upper right is a picture of Jeff doing his "Hulk Smash" of a drive...not kidding, I thought at one point we should fit his golf ball with a GPS since none of us could see that far!!

We were also allowed to use the female tee's for one our players (NO...not me!).  Bev played really well for this being her first year swinging the clubs.  We used several of her shots, and she would have easily won the "Best Coordinated Outfit", if they had an award for that!

Here's a shot of the three of us....aka, the last place team!!  I know Jeff's got big shoulders, but they weren't big enough to carry Bev and myself.  And below, me and the pasty ghost (I mean Bev).

Thanks to QuikTrip and The Patriot for putting on such a great tournament and to the United Way.  We are looking forward to next year!!
