CAMOUFLAGED HOMES

When you think a home should blend with its surroundings, a first reaction would be to use some of the natural elements found in or around the site.  Beyond the use of external visible materials, LEED has made an attempt to get the building industry to use more local materials (not really on-site specifically, but within a certain distance of the project site).  When you dive deeper into this "acknowledgement of your surroundings", you being to look at topography, weather patterns, indigenous plant life, etc...

What if you took that thought even further and decide to make a home look exactly like it's surrounding environment.  CAMOUFLAGED!!  As a grown child, when I think of this concept, I think modern day forts...but you can tell from the photo's, these are well thought-out, creative, and (some) very costly.  I thought it was an interesting read, and thought I would pass it along.

Enjoy!
